The first picture is the regular release of this book. I bought it because of a little circle on my copy. The reason is really stuck out to me was not the bright color of the cover, though I do like that. I found this book at a thrift store, Goodwill to be exact. So, I got a little off topic in relation to Tahiti. Quite frankly, all his women look rather manly, but he’s a celebrated artist so you have to live with it. Paul Gauguin wasn’t a realist as far as his art style, but he did paint recognizable people. Anyways, Paul Gauguin, who is that you say, an artist, lived in Tahiti for a while. Yes, art history is not as boring as you have been led to believe by the popular media. The first place I heard it though was in art history class. It’s referenced in many movies as a place to relax or run off to. This is, of course, not the first time I have heard of Tahiti. I have never been to Tahiti, but I have been to a sub-tropical island, which is not too far off from being like Tahiti. When someone says the word Tahiti people automatically jump to images of pristine beaches and ocean all around. This is the first book I have read that takes place in Tahiti.
